Symbol of Life
Symbol of Life is my approach on creating an architecture with a symbolism of life and growth.
The exterior facade that also acts as a barrier between the interior and the surrounding neighbor is shaped as a Koru, a Maori symbol for a new life, spiritual growth and progress. It consists of plants and greenery, which represents the earth element of grounding, life, growth and strength. The interior is split into three zones, gradually elevating across the site in resemblance of a fluid, flowing through the earth. Living space on the ground next to the entrance, kitchen and bathroom in the middle and bedroom at the top. The interior resembles water element quite literally, symbolic and from the perception of one’s eye.
